Käpykaartin Paraati
The Parade of The Deserters 2025.
Kinetic sculpture in KITA 2025 exhibition.

A playful installation of cones & colour lights & mirrors. The cones fell off a pine tree, the cashier belt is from S-Market nearby KITA. The edge of mirror fell off a truck that traveled Highway 4 besides KITA. So this came to life automatically practically speaking. Pun intented. 🙂

Mieto ylösnousemus
A Mild Upheaval 2024.
Zoetrope at KITA 2024.

KITA had been an abandoned house from 1997 up until 2022 when the gallery was founded. Some young gangsters had been vandalising the inner surfaces. Mustard was squeezed all over the floors, walls even ceiling. There was even mustard television drawn in the former living room for some entertainment. In this artwork, this mustard is experiencing quick oscillating resurrections and immediate ascension to Valhalla of mustards.

AKA. SinapPinacoteca, Requirem for a Mustard.

Rauhankyyhky & Uusi Nokia /
Pigeon & Moneymaking machine
2024

Kinetic light and scupture installation at KITA summer show 2024. Some experimental plastic materials and playing with moiré, reflections and shadow in this installation. The scene is somewhat aristotelic: the greedy money making machine is chasing the pigeon of peace.

Autolithophon, 2021

A collaboration with wonderful Josef Nadj was made for FINDE Tandems Kunstfestival in Horb Am Neckar. Project was a performative sculpture, which was making sounds of differently tuned blocks of granite. The mechanism used a waterwheel to power up the hammers by the power of water flow of a fountain. We also made a performance spectacle on the opening ceremony of the sculpture – ending up big time on the local news paper!

The mechanics consist of different types of kitchen utilities, for example espresso coffee machine filter handles. This sculpture has been in exhibition in Rankka -gallery in Helsinki, Laikku -gallery in Tampere and summer 2023 in Antares Art Center, Kouvola.
